Ecological Impact Assessment

Heritage Ecological have vast experience in providing Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) in support of planning applications. Our diverse project portfolio ranges from small scale developments to large projects, such as wind farms, where the EcIA may form part of an Environmental Statement (ES).

Our approach is to identify key ecological risk and engage with the statutory regulators at an early stage. We can then provide advice on project design in order to minimise effects on ecology and reduce potential project delay. This approach often helps to ensure that projects achieve consent and are not objected to on ecological grounds.

Where required, we undertake Habitats Regulations Appraisals (HRA) to inform on potential effects on Natura sites (SACs and SPAs).

As part of the EcIA process, Heritage Ecological have extensive experience in developing, overseeing and undertaking project mitigation measures.
