Development Licences

Heritage Ecological possess a wealth of experience in securing development licences on behalf of our clients, particularly for bats, badger and great crested newt. We have also secured development licenses for red squirrel, water vole, pine marten and otter. We can prepare detailed Species Protection Plans (SPPs) to help ensure licence applications are successful.

As part of the development licence process, we have undertaken a range of mitigation, including licensed exclusions and translocations. Specific measures have included great crested newt habitat creation and translocation; design and build of bat hibernacula; badger exclusion and artificial sett creation; otter exclusion and artificial holt creation; and, water vole translocation.
