Protected Mammal Survey and Assessment

Our protected mammal team undertake survey and assessment of a range of protected mammals, including bats, wildcat, otter, badger, pine marten, red squirrel and water vole.

Surveys and assessment are completed in accordance with standardised and/or novel methodology to inform e.g. EcIAs in support of planning applications; SNH species licence applications; and, to provide baseline for management plans.

We also have the capability to undertake surveys of other mammals, including Scottish Biodiversity List species (e.g. hedgehog, brown hare, mountain hare, polecat), beaver, deer and small mammals.
