Vegetation Survey and Assessment

Heritage Ecological's  in-house team of vegetation specialists undertake a range of surveys, including National Vegetation Classification (NVC), Phase I Habitat, invasive non-native flora (e.g. giant hogweed and Japanese knotweed), habitat condition monitoring, and targeted survey for Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystems (GWDTEs).

We also undertake survey and assessment of lower plants, including bryophytes and lichens.

Vegetation data is used for a number of purposes, including production of detailed habitat mapping, EcIAs to support planning applications, and to inform on management plans and habitat creation projects.
